Terms of Service

The agreement between you and Boona. Written to be read, not to hide things.

Before you start

Language: This document is currently published in English only. Localized versions for the other Boona site languages are in preparation. Until they are published, the English text is the governing version.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Boona salon booking and management platform, including the boona.app website, the business dashboard, the booking widget, and our mobile apps (together, the "Service").

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you are agreeing on behalf of a business, you confirm you are authorised to bind that business.

1. Who you are contracting with

The Service is operated by Boona ("Boona", "we", "us"). Our contact address for all matters relating to these Terms is contact@boona.app.

Note: Boona's corporate registration details are being updated as part of an ongoing restructuring. Full statutory identification will be published on this page and in a dedicated legal notice once that process completes.

2. What the Service does

Boona provides software that lets a salon or independent professional manage appointments, staff schedules, client records, and related business operations, and lets that business accept bookings from its own clients.

Two points worth stating plainly, because they define the relationship:

  • Boona is not a marketplace. We do not operate a consumer directory that resells your clients to you, and we do not charge commission on bookings.
  • Your client list is yours. We process it on your behalf. We do not market to your clients on our own account, and we do not sell it. See the Data Processing Agreement.

3. Accounts and eligibility

To use the Service you must create an account and provide accurate information. You are responsible for all activity under your account and for keeping your credentials secure. Notify us promptly at contact@boona.app if you believe your account has been compromised.

The business-facing Service is intended for use by businesses and professionals, not consumers. You must be at least 18 years old to hold an account.

4. Free trial

New accounts include a three-month free trial. No payment card is required to start it.

  • The trial gives access to the Service as described at sign-up.
  • At the end of the trial the account does not convert automatically to a paid subscription — you choose whether to subscribe.
  • If you do not subscribe, your data is retained for the grace period described in section 9 before deletion.

5. Fees and payment

Paid subscriptions are billed according to the plan you select at checkout. Boona's published pricing starts at $2 per month per location, plus $1 per month for each additional staff member; the rates, currency and billing term applicable to you are those shown at the time of purchase and on your invoice.

  • Subscriptions are sold in prepaid terms. Charges are due in advance of the term they cover.
  • Prices exclude any applicable taxes unless stated otherwise at checkout.
  • We may change prices for future terms. We will give notice before a change takes effect for you, and a change never applies retroactively to a term you have already paid for.
  • If a payment fails, we may suspend access to the Service until the balance is settled.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service to send unsolicited marketing to people who have not consented to receive it;
  • Upload personal data you have no lawful basis to process;
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, other accounts, or the underlying infrastructure;
  • Probe, scan or load-test the Service without our prior written consent (see the Security page for how to report a vulnerability responsibly);
  • Resell, sublicense or white-label the Service without a written agreement with us;
  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in breach of applicable data protection law.

We may suspend an account that is causing harm to the Service or to other users, and will tell you why.

7. Your data

You retain all rights to the data you and your clients put into the Service ("Your Data"). You grant us only the licence needed to host, process and transmit Your Data in order to operate the Service for you.

Where Your Data contains personal data, you act as the data controller and Boona acts as your processor. Those terms are set out in the Data Processing Agreement, which forms part of these Terms.

You can export your historical appointment records at any time from the dashboard.

8. Availability and support

We aim for 99.9% monthly availability of the Service and monitor it continuously. This is a target, not a contractual service level agreement; we do not currently offer service credits, and planned maintenance is excluded from the calculation.

Support is provided by email and through our documentation. Reminder notifications are delivered by email and push notification. Boona does not send SMS.

9. Termination and what happens to your data

You may cancel at any time from the dashboard. Cancellation stops future renewals; it does not by itself refund the remainder of a prepaid term.

We may terminate or suspend your account for material breach of these Terms, for non-payment, or where required by law. Except in cases of serious abuse, we will give you notice and a reasonable opportunity to fix the problem.

After termination, Your Data is retained for a limited grace period so you can export it or reactivate, and is then deleted. The grace period and deletion mechanics are described in the Privacy Policy and the Data Processing Agreement. You can also request deletion at any time via Delete Account.

10. Warranties and liability

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we exclude implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Boona's total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in that period. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profits, or loss of goodwill.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or any statutory rights you have as a consumer where consumer law applies to you.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. When we make a material change we will update the "Last Updated" date above and notify account holders by email or in the dashboard before the change takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after that date means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not accept them, you may cancel.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable at Boona's place of establishment, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Where you contract with us as a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country in which you live, and may bring proceedings there.

Note: The specific governing law and forum will be stated here once Boona's corporate restructuring completes and the statutory entity details are published.
